Wirra Creek Music is a music initiative that promotes original artists
(instrumental and songwriters) and even the odd poet.

The concept - originally known as Acoustic Peacock - adopted a new name due to a change in
venue to Fernies. The Wirra Creek runs through Willunga and wends its way past the Fern Forest Nursery.

Sadly, the delightful Fern Forest Nursery is no longer available as an indoor entertainment venue,
due to limitations of space and the increasing amount of stock and display items that needed to
be moved to make way for the concerts.

However, things are starting to get back on track. Starting on Thursday 12th of May 2016, we will be presenting some concerts in association with
South Coast Folk Club at the Port Noarlunga Bowling Club. See our Events page for details

Negotiations are also proceeding with the Willunga Recreation Park with a view to hiring the Show Hall.

The name of the venue will change from ‘Fernies’ to ‘Wirra Creek’.

Performances will no longer be held on the 2nd Friday because of current community bookings but other Fridays are available.

We are considering a change of format from Support Act/Main Act to something else – yet to be finalised.

If you attend a Wirra Creek Music evening to listen to a range of original music and poetry
covering a broad spectrum of genres, you will do so in a peaceful rural setting, albeit
within 50 easy kms of Adelaide, in one of South Australia's most attractive country towns.
